MBB: Finney-Smith, Allen Earn SEC Accolades

Dorian Finney-Smith
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – For the third straight season, Dorian Finney-Smith has earned
postseason honors from the Southeastern Conference. On Tuesday, the senior was named second-team All-SEC for the second year in a row after being the SEC Sixth Man of the Year in 2014.

Allen earned placement on the SEC All-Freshman team, making eight of the past nine years that a Gator freshman has earned that honor.

The pair were Florida’s top two scorers in SEC action this season, as Finney Smith averaged 15.4 points and Allen scored 12.3 points per game. Finney-Smith is also the
Gators’ top rebounder for the third straight year, averaging 8.2 boards per game this season.

The Gators (18-13, 9-9 SEC) open SEC Tournament action in Nashville on Thursday at 1
p.m. Eastern (noon local), facing Arkansas at Bridgestone Arena. The winner of that
game gets a date with co-SEC champion Texas A&M on Friday.
