JU Golfer Vandermoten Receives All-Conference Honors

ATLANTA - Jacksonville University men's golf redshirt junior Alexandre Vandermoten was named to the ASUN All-Conference Third Team on Monday, as announced by the league office. The native of Baillargues, France made an all-conference team for the second-straight year, one of five players on the team this year to have made multiple all-conference squads. He led the team in multiple statistical scoring categories this season. His 72.20 stroke average was the best amongst JU players, and he also recorded the most rounds in the 60s, with seven total. His compiled 14 rounds of par-or-better and 30 of his rounds have counted towards the total team score. His best finish of the season was a T5 at The Southern Invitational, helping the Dolphins capture the team championship that week. His low 18-hole score was a 64, which he shot in the final round of the Streamsong Invitational to open the season. JU Men's Basketball Falls on Buzzer-Beater at Lipscomb

NASHVILLE (JaxSportsTicker) -  Jacksonville University men's basketball fell on a buzzer-beater three-pointer to Lipscomb, 62-59, at Allen Arena on Saturday. The Dolphins (13-14, 6-10) held the Bisons without a point for the final 5:38 of the game, until surrendering the banked in 25-footer as the horn sounded. JU used a strong shooting first half and an opportunistic defense to take an eight-point lead into the break. The two teams traded buckets early, with the game tied at 12 at the first media timeout. Mike Marsh hit a hook shot and Kevion Nolan swished a stepback three with 11:32 left in the half to give JU its first two possession lead of the night, 19-14. The lead great to nine when Marsh swished a baseline jumper and Gyasi Powell buried a three-pointer, with JU leading 25-16.
