Miami Hurricanes Roll Past Bethune-Cookman 45-3

  MIAMI GARDENS. – Playing on a short week after an emotional victory, the Miami Hurricanes returned to Hard Rock Stadium and delivered just the performance they needed. The fifth-ranked Canes were ruthlessly efficient on offense, stingy on defense and controlled the game from start to finish, defeating Bethune-Cookman 45-3 before a crowd of 60,617. Miami improved to 2-0, while BCU fell to 0-2. The Canes racked up 543 yards, averaging 8.4 yards per play and scoring on all five of their red zone trips. Quarterback Carson Beck completed 22 of 24 passes for 267 yards and two touchdowns. He completed his first 15 passes, setting a school record for consecutive completions in a single game; Vinny Testaverde held the previous mark, completing 14 straight passes against Oklahoma in 1986. Miami's Ward Selected First Overall by Tennessee Titans

  GREEN BAY, Wisc. -- University of Miami quarterback Cam Ward was selected with the first overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans Thursday night. Ward became the third Hurricane to ever be selected No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft and the first since 1991, when defensive tackle Russell Maryland was taken by the Dallas Cowboys with the draft’s top pick. Quarterback Vinny Testaverde was also selected No. 1 overall in 1987 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The first Hurricane to be selected in the first round since defensive ends Greg Rousseau and Jaelan Phillips in 2021, Ward won the Manning Award and the Davey O’Brien Award honoring the nation’s top quarterback after a prolific 2024 season with the Hurricanes. College Recap: Canes Roll Past Rattlers in Home Opener

  MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. --  After a dominant win at Florida to open the season, the 12th-ranked Miami Hurricanes were determined to carry that momentum into their home opener. They scored touchdowns on their first three drives of the first half. They scored touchdowns on their first three drives of the second half. They racked up 548 yards and yielded only 194 yards. They didn’t allow a touchdown. They never punted.   The end result was a comfortable 56-9 win over Florida A&M on Saturday evening before a crowd of 57,886 at Hard Rock Stadium. Three Hurricanes Competing at 2024 World Rowing Championships

  CORAL GABLES -  Three members of the University of Miami rowing team are slated to compete at the 2024 World Rowing Championships in St Catharines, Canada this week, marking a program record for the most participants at the event.  The three Canes set to compete this week include returnee Naroa Zubimendi who will be competing in the U23 World Championships, and a pair of incoming freshmen in Sara Caterisano and Candela Martinez Pernas. Caterisano will be taking part in the U19 World Championships, while Perinas has already begun competing at the U23 World Championships.  “We are very proud of all our athletes who try out for their country’s national teams,” said Head Coach James Mulcahy. “That shows an incredible commitment to their sport, and they are role models for their teammates.
