NFL Notes: Bucs, Dolphins Announce Coaching Changes

By Mike Bonts After an exit from the first round of the NFL playoffs, the Bucs and Dolphins today announced coaching changes. Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that the team has parted ways with Offensive Coordinator Byron Leftwich, Specialists Coach Chris Boniol, Wide Receivers Coach Kevin Garver, Offensive Quality Control Coach Jeff Kastl, Assistant Defensive Line Coach Lori Locust and Running Backs Coach Todd McNair. In addition, Quarterbacks Coach Clyde Christensen, Senior Offensive Assistant Rick Christophel and Outside Linebackers Coach Bob Sanders have decided to retire. “We appreciate the hard work and contributions that all of these coaches made to our successes over the past four seasons,” said Buccaneers Head Coach Todd Bowles. “As a collective group, we did not meet the high standards that had been set for this past year and my focus now is on doing what is needed to ensure a successful 2023 season. NFL NEWS: Jacksonville Jaguars Select Florida's Dante Fowler, As Expected Bucs Take Winston

By MIKE BONTS FLORIDA SPORTS WIRE With the 2nd pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select Dante Fowler, defensive end from Florida. "I'm excited about this moment, as I'm just living it up right now," said Fowler following his selection. "All my hard work has paid off, but I still have a lot of great things to do. I'm just very blessed." Fowler is the 47th Gator drafted all-time in the first round and tied him for the highest a Gator was picked since the 1966 NFL-AFL merger. UF has had 12 defensive lineman in the selected in the first round since 1989, which is most of any school over that span. "Dante is the most gifted edge-rusher in this draft class," said NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock following the selection.
