 Special to SportsDay Jimmy Ellis, a relative newcomer to Northeast Florida, won the 107th FSGA Amateur Championship contested at Quail Valley and Bent Pine in Vero Beach.  The 38-year-old Pennsylvania native fired a final-round 64 to overtake third-round leader and 2022 Jacksonville Amateur presented by Synovus champion Jason Duff of Elkton/UNF and win by four. Duff held onto to second place with recently graduated UNF teammate Brett Schell of St. Augustine and Tyler Gulliksen of Flagler Beach. Major League Soccer Makes Extensive Impact on U.S. Men's Olympic Team

NEW YORK – Earlier today, U.S. Soccer announced the 18-man roster for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, which features 10 current players from Major League Soccer. U.S. Men’s Soccer will return to the Games for the first time since 2008 with a roster that is almost entirely composed of current or former MLS players. Of the 18 players U.S. Olympic Men’s Soccer Team head coach Marko Mitrović named, 17 of those spent have played in MLS or spent time in an MLS academy. Nine different MLS clubs are represented on the U.S. Men’s Olympics Roster as the Philadelphia Union will send two players to Paris – Nathan Harriel and Jack McGlynn. Veteran Broadcaster Gene Deckerhoff Returns to Bucs for 36th Season

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced the broadcast crews for their radio and preseason television broadcasts. The legendary voice of the Buccaneers and award-winning play-by-play announcer and Jacksonville native, Gene Deckerhoff, returns for his 36 th  season alongside former Bucs tight end Dave Moore, who enters his 19 th  season providing game analysis. T.J. Rives will provide live in-game updates and interviews from the sidelines for the 20 th  consecutive season.
