JACKSONVILLE - The Sharks have re-signed the following players for the 2025 season: DL Raahsaan Wilkins, DB Dejahn Warren, and DB Omari Smith.  Wilkins (6 '2,310lbs) played for the Sharks at the end of the 2024 season and made an immediate impact. He will anchor the DL in the 2025 season. Wilkins began his collegiate football career at Vanderbilt University in 2020, where he played for two seasons. During his time with the Commodores, he appeared in a number of games and showcased his potential as a defensive player. Over those two seasons,  Wilkins recorded a total of 21 tackles, including five tackles for loss, demonstrating his ability to disrupt the offensive backfield. After his brief tenure at Illinois, Wilkins made another transfer, this time to the University of Connecticut (UConn). ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic have converted the contract of guard Mac McClung to a two-way contract, President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deals are not disclosed. McClung (6’2”, 185, 1/6/99) was originally signed by Orlando on September 19. He appeared in two preseason games, averaging 4.0 ppg., 1.0 apg. and 1.00 blkppg. in 7.5 minpg. McClung played and started in 27 games last season with Osceola of the NBA G League, averaging a league-best 25.7 ppg., 6.6 apg., 4.7 rpg. and 1.26 stlpg. in 35.4 minpg., while shooting .509 (252-495) from the floor, .396 (72-182) from three-point range and .843 (70-83) from the free throw line.  He was named the 2023-24 NBA G League Most Valuable Player and also earned 2023-24 All-NBA G League First Team honors. SAN ANTONIO – On Saturday afternoon, the Florida Atlantic football team was defeated by UTSA, 38-24.  In a game that ultimately ended up in the Roadrunners' favor, the Owls (2-5, 0-3 AAC) made several timely plays and saw multiple players etch themselves in the program record book.  With the loss, FAU moves to 2-5 on the season with an 0-3 record against American Athletic Conference teams.  The Owls' offense came to life late in the first quarter on a third-and-six when redshirt junior Cam Fancher fooled the defense on a quarterback draw and took it to the end zone for a 76-yard touchdown run.  Complementary football was on display from all three units in the second quarter. NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.  - The South Carolina Stingrays got goals from  Grant Cruikshank ,  Kyler Kupka ,  Charlie Combs , and  Micah Miller,  while Mitchell Gibson had 25 saves in a season-opening 4-3 OT victory over the Orlando Solar Bears in front of a crowd of 6,022 fans at the North Charleston Coliseum. BOX SCORE Alex Frye put Orlando on the board with the first period’s lone goal. At the end of a 4-on-4 session, Frye entered the Stingrays’ zone and looped around the right side, cutting in front and tucking the puck under Gibson’s left pad to give the Solar Bears a 1-0 lead with a shorthanded tally. The Stingrays tied it up on the power play in the final second of the second period. With 0.1 to go in the middle frame, Cruikshank took his initially blocked shot and slapped the rebound through the five-hole of Solar Bears’ goalie Ryan Fanti.   TAMPA   –  Returning to Raymond James Stadium for the first time in three weeks, South Florida (3-4; 1-2 American) outscored UAB 28-6 down the stretch to notch its first American Athletic Conference win of the season, 35-25, over the Blazers (1-6; 0-4 American) on Saturday. Junior quarterback Bryce Archie, in his second career start, went 17-of-31 for 201 yards and two touchdowns to log his first career win. He utilized sophomore wide receiver Keshaun Singleton, making his first career start, who posted career highs with four receptions for 105 yards, including a 67-yard touchdown catch that marked the Bulls’ longest pass play of the season.   Senior wide receiver Sean Atkins posted four catches on the day to pass Andre Davis’ (2011-14) program record in career receptions (153), finishing the night with 157.
