NAL: Albany Empire Out of Leage; Sharks React
(www.sportsdayjax.com) - The National Arena League (NAL) announced that the Albany Empire’s membership in the National Arena league was terminated due to team ownership's refusal to pay various league fees.
As a result, the Jacksonville Sharks game schedule for June 17, in Albany has been canceled. Since this game will not be played, it will not reflect on the Sharks record. The Sharks will remain 6-2 pending June 26th’s home game against the Carolina Cobras.
The Sharks were scheduled to play the Albany Empire in the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena July 15.
The NAL is working on a revised schedule. The number of Sharks remaining home games will not be affected. "While we are saddened by the actions the league had to take, we will make sure that our fans have the same number of home games as before," Sharks Ticketing Manager David Diana said. "We are in the process of seeing what options we have to make that happen."
