Orlando City SC Signs Strategic Partnership with Football Science Institute

ORLANDO (SportsDay) – Orlando City SC today announced a strategic partnership with the Football Science Institute (FSI) aimed at enhancing its technical and sporting infrastructure, participate in applied research initiatives and expand professional development opportunities for its staff.

“We are always looking for ways to push the standard of excellence across our club, and this partnership with FSI is an important step in that process,” said Orlando City SC General Manager & Sporting Director Ricardo Moreira. “By connecting cutting-edge research with our day-to-day operations, we can create an environment that supports innovation, enhances player performance and invests in the continued growth of our staff.”

Through this partnership, Orlando City staff and professionals will gain access to FSI’s educational programs, developed and delivered by experts working within some of the most competitive environments in world football. 

The agreement will also provide opportunities for participation in academic initiatives, professional events and educational activities organized by FSI, encouraging the exchange of ideas and best practices among professionals from different areas of the game.

UFL: Orlando Storms Past Columbus For Season Opening Win

ORLANDO – The Orlando Storm etched their names in the UFL record books, winning the first game in franchise history against another new franchise in the Columbus Aviators, 23-16, to conclude week one of the 2026 UFL season. Passing and rushing hit on all cylinders for the Storm, totaling 356 yards of offense, spotlighted by a league-best 139 rushing yards. Former Carolina Panthers quarterback Jack Plummer threw an efficient 17-22, totaling 240 yards and one passing touchdown. Elijhah Badger led the night in receiving, snagging four catches for 127 yards.  Running back Jashaun Corbin played lights-out, leading the UFL in rushing yards (66) and rushing touchdowns (two) after week one. Jumbo Shrimp swept with 11-2 loss to Red Wings

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (SportsDay Media) – The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp were swept on Sunday in an 11-2 loss to the Rochester Red Wings at ESL Ballpark. The Red Wings (56-38, 11-10) opened up the scoring with a massive third inning. Jumbo Shrimp (50-44, 8-12) reliever Amos Willingham (0-2) issued a leadoff walk to Riley Adams before Cayden Wallace singled. Maxwell Romero Jr. followed with an RBI single for the game’s first run.  Christian Franklin then walked to bring up Abimelec Ortiz, who crushed a grand slam to make it 5-0. Two batters later, Andrew Pinckney doubled before scoring from second on a passed ball. Pinckney walked with one out in the fifth and Trey Lipscomb singled.
