Jaguars Sign QB John Rhys Plumlee to Practice Squad

 JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed QB John Rhys Plumlee to the practice squad, the team announced today.

Rhys Plumlee recently participated in training camp with Pittsburgh after signing as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2024. Prior to starting his NFL career, he spent five seasons playing at the collegiate level with both Mississippi (2019-21) and Central Florida (2022-23). 


In 52 games he completed 464 passes for 5,838 yards and 34 touchdowns while also rushing 453 times for 2,556 yards and 28 touchdowns. During his senior season (2023), he was named 247Sports most dynamic athlete and broke the UCF record for most career rushing yards by a quarterback (1,334 yards).

 

The Hattiesburg, Miss., native graduated in May 2023 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies and received 2022 AAC All-Academic Team honors.
