UNF Men's Soccer Prevails in 4-3 Victory Against Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE - North Florida men's soccer (3-5-2, 1-1-0) scored a pair of goals in each half to prevail in the River City Rumble, 4-3, against Jacksonville (1-6-3, 0-2-0) on Saturday evening at Hodges Stadium.

The Dolphins got on the bord first behind a Carson Wood goal, assisted by Owen Guske. The score tied the game at 1-1. JU found itself down 2-1 with under a minute to play in the first half before Olivier Correa found nylon off of a free kick.

The momentum was quickly seized back by UNF after a pair of scores gave the Ospreys a 4-2 lead for most of the second half. Oscar Resano scored the contest's final goal after a play forward from Wood, but JU could not find the equalizer.

David Perez continued his impressive start to kick off conference play with a brace against the Dolphins. He now has scored three goals in two matches, including both of his goals scored within the first five minutes of each half.

Joaquin Acuna joined Perez in the scoring to give UNF four total goals, which was the most scored in an ASUN matchup since the 2018 season finale against NJIT. The Osprey offense has now produced eight goals in its last three games.
