Julian DeBose (FGCU), Josh Williams (Lipscomb), Damon Lynn (NJIT), Beau Beech (North Florida), Dallas Moore (North Florida), Yonel Brown (Kennesaw State), Winfield Willis (NJIT), Demarcus Daniels (North Florida), and Chris Davenport (North Florida) joined Babineaux on the preseason All A-Sun squad.
The Dolphins were picked to finish fifth in the conference in the coaches poll, and sixth in the media poll. North Florida was picked first in both polls, and FGCU finished second in both polls. From there the polls diverged.
