NBA: Orlando Magic Resign Free Agent Goga Bitadze

The Orlando Magic have re-signed free agent center Goga Bitadze (GO-guh bih-TAH-zay), President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal are not disclosed.

 

Bitadze (6’11”, 235, 7/20/99) played in 62 games (33 starts) last season with Orlando, averaging 5.0 ppg., 4.6 rpg., 1.3 apg. and 1.16 blkpg. in 15.4 minpg., while shooting .603 (126-209) from the floor. He tied for 17th in the NBA in blocked shots. Bitadze led (or tied) the team in rebounding 16 times and scored in double figures 13 times, including a season-high 15 points three times, the last on Dec. 15 @ Boston. He had 10+ rebounds seven times and recorded five double-doubles. Bitadze also played in two playoff games, did not score while averaging 1.5 rpg. and 1.0 apg. in 4.9 minpg.

 

Originally selected in the first round (18th overall) of the 2019 NBA Draft by Indiana, Bitadze has played in 249 career NBA regular season games (55 starts) with Indiana and Orlando, averaging 4.9 ppg. and 3.0 rpg. in 11.9 minpg., while shooting .515 (479-930) from the floor.

 

Bitadze wears #35 with the Orlando Magic.
