Flagler's Wise honored by College Sports Communicators

 ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College's Madelyn Wise was selected to the 2023-24 Academic All-District® Softball team announced by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 18, 2024. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.
 
Wise, who earned her second selection to the CSC Academic All-District® Team, holds a 3.54 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and is a psychology major with minors in criminology and health science. The senior appeared in 37 games this season with a 11-2 record. The Edgefield, South Carolina native posted a 3.05 earned run average (ERA), totaling 110.1 innings pitched, facing 511 batters and striking out 108. She leads the Flagler all-time appearance record with 121. She is fourth in complete games with 27 and starts with 56. She is second in innings pitched (455.1) and strikeouts with 357 in her career.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
