McDonald Becomes First Flagler Player to Receive All-Region Honors

ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College sophomore attack Trace McDonald was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division II All-South Region Third Team, as announced by the organization Friday morning.

"Trace is the first all-region player at Flagler College," said head coach Brian Duncan. "He is a special student-athlete, as he is humble but confident. Our coaching staff truly appreciated what Trace brings to our team with a lead by example mentality. No load was too big and he gets the other teams' top defender every game."

The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native had a standout season where he led the Saints in scoring (37 goals) and assists (40) for 77 points. McDonald finished second in the Peach Belt Conference in assists per game (2.59), fifth in goals per game (2.35), and led the league in points per game (4.94). Nationally, McDonald was eighth in assists per game and 13th in points per game. He was named the PBC's Offensive Player of the Year and earned first team all-conference honors.
