FLORIDA SPORTS WIRE -

MOBILE, Ala. (Dec. 29) – UCLA linebacker Eric Kendricks, the Butkus Award winner (best linebacker) and Lott IMPACT Trophy winner (defensive player who made most impact on his team), has accepted an invitation to the 2015 Reese’s Senior Bowl.

“Eric showed up big all year for the Bruins,” said Reese’s Senior Bowl Executive Director Phil Savage. “He is a run-and-hit linebacker that can play all three downs and help on special teams, too.”

Kendricks is joined by a handful of talented prospects in the latest group of top seniors to accept invites to the nation’s premier all-star game, headlined by All-American tackle Cedric Ogbuehi of Texas A&M.

“Cedric is the latest in the recent line of Texas A&M tackles with legit NFL potential,” Savage said.  “He can solidify his status as one of the best in this draft by practicing and playing well here in Mobile.”

Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty, Baylor wide receiver Antwan Goodley and Arizona State tackle Jamil Douglas will also be in Mobile in late January.

“I met Bryce at the Manning Academy this summer and he said, ‘I hope I play well enough to be invited to the Senior Bowl’,” Savage said. “Well, he did that and more in leading Baylor to an 11-1 record and throwing for 26 touchdowns against only six interceptions.”

The five additions to the 2015 game roster push the total number of players who have accepted invitations to 103.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl invited 110 players to fill the rosters of the North and South squads for this year’s game. Practices are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015. The game is set to kickoff at 3 p.m. CT on Saturday, Jan. 24 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile.
