COLLEGE BOWL NEWS: Gators Will Face East Carolina in 2015 Birmingham Bowl
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The University of Florida football team has accepted an invitation to play American representative East Carolina in the Birmingham Bowl on Jan. 3, 2015, at historic Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala. The game will be broadcast on ESPN at 12 p.m. ET
This will be just the second meeting all-time between UF and ECU. The Gators beat the Pirates 24-17 in 1983. The two teams are also scheduled to meet during the 2015 season on Saturday, Sept. 12.
"We are excited to be headed to Birmingham for the Birmingham Bowl," said athletics director Jeremy Foley. "Our players, coaches and staff are looking forward to traveling to the home of the conference office and representing the University of Florida."
"We're very excited to be heading to the Birmingham Bowl," said interim head coach D.J. Durkin. "Our guys are ready to get back on the field to begin preparation to face a very good ECU team."
The deadline for Gator Booster Priority seating is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10. Orders will still be accepted after this date, but will be filled out of priority order so fans are encouraged to buy tickets by the Dec. 10 deadline.
The Gator Ticket Office will accept ticket orders from all Gator Boosters and general public fans and there will be no limits on the number of tickets a fan may order. However, if the Gator Ticket Office oversells by the deadline, tickets may be reduced or refunded using the Gator Booster Priority Point system. If the Gator Ticket Office must issue reductions or refunds, notifications will be made as soon as possible after the deadline.
Birmingham Bowl tickets are $50. All tickets will be sent via first-class U.S. mail during the week of December 12 to those fans who purchase tickets.
