Flagler College Saints Ranked No. 1 in First Regional Poll

 INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Flagler College women's tennis team is ranked No. 1 in the first of three NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings, which were released this afternoon.

Flagler is 14-4 overall and 10-3 against teams within the region. The Saints have the toughest in-division strength of schedule, .647, and their in-region strength of schedule also tops the charts at .640.

The rest of the ranking is as follows: 2) Columbus State University (7-3 overall, 6-3 in-region); 3) University of North Georgia (11-4, 9-4); 4) Georgia College & State University (14-1, 13-1); 5) Wingate University (13-2, 12-2); 6) Newberry College (15-2, 15-2); 7) Catawba College (12-4, 12-3); 8) Tusculum University (10-15, 10-5); and 9) Erskine College (13-4, 13-4).  

Flagler Men Debuts at No. 3 in Regional Ranking

The Flagler College men’s tennis team debuts at No. 3 in the first of three NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings, which were released Wednesday afternoon.

Flagler is 12-5 overall and is 8-4 within the region.

Holding down the top spot in the region is Columbus State University (10-2 overall, 8-2 in region).

The rest of the top 10 is: 2) Lander University (14-2, 14-2); 4) University of North Georgia (7-4, 7-4); 5) Augusta University (12-5, 10-5); 6) Wingate University (12-1, 11-1); 7) Tusculum University (11-4, 11-4); 8) Young Harris College (7-7, 7-6); 9) Carson-Newman University (8-6, 8-6); and 10) Francis Marion University (11-6, 11-6).

The Southeast Regional will have seven teams, but four teams will be in one location while the other three will be in another. The conference tournament champions from the Peach Belt, South Atlantic, and Conference Carolinas will receive an automatic berth. 

The other five teams will receive at-large berths from their ranking in the regional poll. The regional will be played May 1-2. The national championships will be May 12-16 at the USTA National Tennis Center in Orlando, Florida.
