Gators Duo Garners Weekly AAC Lacrosse Honors
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - After topping Vanderbilt 22-6 on Saturday, two Gators earned American Athletic Conference honors, the league announced Monday.
Emma LoPinto and Danielle Pavinelli were each tabbed to the AAC Honor Roll heading into the final week of the regular season. That is LoPinto's 10th weekly honor this season, while Pavinelli picked up her first accolade of the 2023 campaign.
LoPinto - the sophomore attacker - posted six points against Vanderbilt, registering three goals and three assists in the victory. She went 3-of-5 from the field, along with causing one turnover and picking up one groundball.
The Manhasset, N.Y. native currently ranks in the Top-10 in the AAC in the following categories: points per game (2nd | 4.47), goals per game (3rd | 3.07), assists per game (4th | 1.40), shots per game (6th | 5.40).
Pavinelli - the junior attacker - tallied a season-high six points against the Commodores, coming from four goals and two assists. Her four goals tied her season-high mark and she finished the day with a .571 save percentage.
The Northpoint, N.Y. native currently sits in the Top-15 in the AAC in the following categories: points per game (8th | 3.13), goals per game (8th | 2.20), assists per game (13th | 0.93), shots per game (7th | 5.07).
The Gators are back in action on Wednesday for the final nonconference game of the regular season against RV Jacksonville. Opening draw is slated for 7 p.m. at Rock Stadium and fans not in attendance can catch the game on ESPN+.
