Flagler's Gage Voorhees Selected as the PBC Pitcher of the Week

 AUGUSTA, Ga. – Flagler College’s Gage Voorhees was selected as the Peach Belt Conference’s Pitcher of the Week for the period ending April 3, according to a release by conference officials this afternoon.

Voorhees pitched a nine-inning complete game as the Saints upended USC Beaufort 3-1. The Springfield, Ohio native struck out a season-high 11 batters while allowing six hits, one walk and one earned run. 

He retired 16 of the first 18 batters he faced, including 12 in a row, with 14 ground outs on the day. The 11 strikeouts are tied for the second-most in a single game in the PBC this season.

 Voorhees is currently second in the PBC in innings pitched (59.2), seventh in strikeouts (46) and 10th in earned run average (3.77).
