GAINESVILLE, Fla. - After topping Temple in a conference battle, three Gators earned American Athletic Conference honors as the league announced Monday.
Emily Heller was named Midfielder of the Week - her fourth honor of the season - and Sarah Reznick was named Goalkeeper of the Week for her third accolade this year.
Emma LoPinto earned her eighth weekly award in the 2023 campaign, finding herself on the Honor Roll.
Heller posted a career-high five goals against the Owls, going 5-of-8 from the field. The senior midfielder also picked up three groundballs and won three draw controls while going 2-of-2 from the 8-meter.
The Babylon, N.Y. native ranks sixth in the league in groundballs per game (2.33), ninth in caused turnovers per game (1.17), 11th in goals per game (2.00), 12th in draw controls per game (2.92) and 14th in shots per game (3.67).
Reznick earned the title Goalkeeper of the Week after recording 14 saves against Temple to tie her season-best this year. She finished the game with a .519 save percentage and tallied a team-high three groundballs in the victory.
The Long Beach, N.Y. native sits first in the AAC in saves per game (9.25), second in save percentage (.500), fourth in goals against average (10.76) and 11th in groundballs per game (1.92).
LoPinto tallied a season-high five goals in the 17-13 victory over Temple on Saturday, while also dishing out two assists. She currently sits at 98 career goals, on pace to become just the fourth Florida sophomore to achieve the 100-goal milestone.
The Manhasset, N.Y. native ranks third in the league in goals per game (2.92), third in points per game (4.33), fourth in assists per game (4.33) and sixth in shots per game (5.33).
The Gators are back in action on Wednesday as the team travels to Lynchburg, Va. to take on the Liberty Flames. Opening draw was moved up one hour and is now at 12 p.m.
